Tanya in Colorado:
Its been seven years since I cheered and now I'm a freshmen in high school. I really would like to cheer again. I'm 5'2 and 103 pounds I really would love to be a flyer. Is it possible for me to be a flyer and if so do you have any tips? And what should I remember for tryouts?

Hi Tanya! Definitely you should try high school cheerleading! Some of my favorite memories address cheering on the sidelines, going to camp and supporting my school. Sounds like you need to brush up on your cheer skills, so check around for cheer and stunt workshops offered by the current squad, college squads or cheer gyms. You can also consider hiring a Going Pro Entertainment private coach in the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. Flyers come in a variety of heights and weights. Some of the most important attributes for a flyer are strength, flexibility and confidence.... and team practice! Make your goal to master the cheerleading basics like sharp motions, powerful jumps, strong vocal projection, natural smile, then as a team you will work together on stunting. Best wishes!
